9 Month Well Check

I took Cade to the Pediatrician this morning for his 9 month well check! We haven't seen the pedi sine his 6 month appt so I was excited to get official weights and measurements today.

Developmentally everything is right on track and Cade is able to complete all of the tasks on the checklist we were given out our last appointment. He is a growing healthy boy!

He weighs 19 lbs 13.5 oz (35%)
He is 28 1/4 inches long (45%)
His head is 18.25 inches around (75%)

The best part of today's appointment was that there were no shots!!! This made for a very happy boy and Momma! Dr. R gave Cade a clean bill of health today and told us that she would see him again in 3 months for his 1 year (eek!) check-up and next round of shots!

Checkin himself out!

He loves giving kisses!

Little guys newest trick!

Cade has finally learned to wave hello and goodbye! He has been working on getting the right motion put together with opening and closing his hand for a couple of weeks now. We were playing Tuesday morning and I looked up and he was doing it! Since then he has been waving to anything and everything. Gregg caught him on video yesterday and sent it to me. I was one proud Momma walking around the hospital and showing it to everyone!

MiMi Visits

Gregg's Mom came and spent almost a week with us! Unfortunately, I was sick the entire time so I stayed in bed as much as possible and had to miss most of the fun. And because I wasn't around we don't have one single picture of her time here.

MiMi, Gregg and Cade were able to spend good, quality time together for the week. They went shopping, to the quilt stores and out to eat at different fun places! Cade LOVED the extra spoiling that he received while she was here and I was so glad that Gregg had some help for the week since I was out of commission.

9 Months Old

Another month down already??? Time is passing us by so quickly these days! And just as I say every month we are having the best time with Cade and feel so blessed to have him in our lives! He really is such a sweet and fun baby and watching him learn all these new things is so rewarding!

Here are a few things about Cade from this month:
- He is a speed crawler and a crazy crawler! He zips around the house from one area to another so quickly and frequently ends up underneath my legs before I realize that he has even made it into the room I am in.
- He is pulling up on everything and is walking around objects while holding on to them. He will let go of things with one hand and has even let go with both hands a couple of times. His balance has improved dramatically over the last month.
- He is still nursing every 5-6 hours during the day and goes 8-9 hours at night. He is primarily eating stage 2 foods but has had some stage 3 foods. We have also started giving him more soft table food over the last month and he is really doing good with those. He still doesn't have any teeth but I have no complaints about that since I am still breast feeding!
- His sleeping at night is slowly improving! He goes to bed about 10pm most nights and has been staying in his bed till between 5-6am most mornings recently. I still usually get up once during the night to give him his paci but most of the time he is just crying in his sleep then and as soon as he has his paci again he is quite. He does frequently end up in our bed if he wakes up between 5-6am and will usually stay there till at least 8am.
- He is still wearing size 2-3 diapers and size 9-12 month clothes. A lot of his shorts are still size 6 month but anything that goes over his head is at least a 9 month! We go back to the pedi this month for a check-up so I am anxious to see how much he is weighing now and what all his stats are!
- His favorite toys right now are his tractor (or anything that has wheels), his music table and his drum and he loves to bang his hands on anything that is around! We are working on clapping and waving bye and I think he is getting close to doing both of those. Other than his paci, he doesn't have any type of blanket/ toy/ lovee that he has to have with him at all times.
- We started teaching him sign language the middle of last month and is using the signs for yes and milk already! He doesn't always sign them at the right time but is getting better at that. We are still working on several others including food, water and more.

We love you so much sweet boy and look forward to watching you grow more over the next month!

Trying to trick him into staying in the chair with a stuffed animal!

not falling for the trick here!

Good Fun with Good Friends in Granbury!

July 29

We went to Nick and Christy's house in Granbury for a party Friday night. Nick used to be on the fire department with Gregg and Christy and I work together at Parkland in Nursing Education. Patrick, Angie, Tucker and Henlie; Steve, Lisa and Emma; and Joe, Jennifer, and Athena all came over also to cook out and catch up.

We spent the first part of the evening outside so that the kiddos could all play and enjoy the water. Cade was a little timid at first with all the big kids but warmed up pretty quick and had so much fun playing in the pool!

Henlie LOVED Cade and was hugging him and kissing on him ever chance she could!

Such a sweet boy!

Gregg being silly and playing with a water gun

After eating a yummy burger and other snacks the guys decided we needed to play Rock Band! I don't think I have laughed so hard in such a long time!!! We had the best time watching them attempt to sing different things.

I have to admit that I haven't ever played before! The guys thought that it was only fair that the girls take a turn and finally convinced us to try. After watching them all evening and playing along in my head I really thought that the drums would be the easiest and finally agreed to give them a try. I quickly learned that even on the super easy level they are difficult and I no longer have any sort of hand/ foot/ eye coordination or rhythm!!! I failed miserably and we lost pretty quick with me on the drums!

Gregg got a little video of me right as our song was ending

We had such a fun evening and really enjoyed being able to spend this time with friends! Hopefully we will all be able to get together again very soon.

Callie's Baby Shower

July 30

Cade and I went to College Station the end of July for my friend Callie's baby shower. Callie and her husband Tony will be adding another boy to the group in September! We went down Saturday afternoon and got to go to a couples shower that evening in honor of Callie, Tony, and T5. Cade was my date to the party and was just the best little thing while we were there. We spent Saturday night with my dear friend Susan and her parents. Sunday afternoon was the big shower and then we headed back home late that afternoon.

Both of the showers were wonderful and Callie was showered with lots of wonderful goodies! I am so glad that I was able to make the trip and get to see the beautiful pregnant Momma to Be! I also got to catch up with friends and finally got to introduce Cade all the Mom's and other friends while we were there.

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures while we were there so I am hoping some of the other girls will send me some more pictures of the weekend soon that I can add on here!

Susan, Kelly, Callie, Staci, Brynn, and me

Little brag on my boy- Callie paid me the best complement that I have ever received when she told me that after meeting Cade Saturday evening that her and Tony had talked about how sweet, laid back, and wonderful Cade was and that they prayed their baby could be like him! SOOO sweet and made me one proud Momma!
