I have been trying for the last few days to come up with a neat "First Blog" to post and I just can't seem to find the inspiration! So, instead my first blog is going to be a little serious and have a lot of meaning for me (for both of us).
I am so happy for Gregg right now! On Monday, the Irving Fire Department held a Promotion Ceremony and Gregg was recognized for his promotion to Fire Equipment Operator (more commonly referred to as "Driver"). This is something that Gregg has been working towards for the last couple of years. When Gregg and I first met back in October he was studying for this test, scheduled at that time for the first week of November. The test was postponed for 90 days and finally re-scheduled for March. Gregg studied and studied for this test and it payed off! Gregg ended up 11th out of all the guys that took the test. And on June 29th he was promoted to Driver! During the ceremony the IFD Fire Chief presented Gregg and then I got to go on stage and pin Gregg's new badge on him. Gregg's parents came to town for the ceremony and it was all a truly special occasion for our family. I love this boy so much and am very proud of him for what he has accomplished!!! He is an amazing guy who gives so selflessly every time he goes on duty. I am so very blessed to have him in my life and look forward to many more milestones in our careers that we can share!
