Celebrating Our 2nd Anniversary

Yesterday was Gregg and I's 2nd Anniversary! We spent a wonderful day snuggling at home with our precious boy and then went out on our first alone dinner date since Cade was born. (More on that later!) Part of me just can't believe that it has already been 2 years since we said our "I do's" and the other part of me feels like we have been married forever and not just 2 years! Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful and perfect and fun and so much more than I ever dreamed!

Gregg, I loved you then and I love you even more now. You are my best friend and the man of my dreams and I feel so blessed to be your wife. You are an incredible husband and the best father to Cade! We both love you so very much!!!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from our special day:

We asked our good friends Courtney and Casey to watch Cade for us last night while we went to dinner. Courtney is pregnant with their first child and is due the middle of February. They agreed and so we dropped Cade off with them. We decided that since we celebrated our first anniversary in Italy that we should make it a tradition and have Italian food every year on our anniversary and so went to eat at Brio. The food was wonderful and we enjoyed being able to have a couple of hours alone together. (Although, I think we were both secretly anxious to get back to Cade!!!)

Cotton is the gift to be given on the 2nd anniversary so I had this hankie made for Gregg
Headed out for our date!

We have had an amazing 2 years together and I look forward to all the many more wonderful moments that I know are in store for us and our family in the future!!!

First play "date"!

Cade and I went to Lewisville this afternoon to see my friend Sara and meet her precious little girl, McKensley. McKensley is just the sweetest girl and pretty darn cute too! I couldn't believe how much bigger Cade looked next to McKensley and how much of a difference there is in the two of them being 4 weeks a part in age. I realized today how much of that change I take for granted being with him every day and just how quickly it does all change! We had such fun time visiting with our friends today and look forward to many more play dates in the future!

After we left Lewisville, we went to visit Gregg at the fire station. We haven't been to visit since before Christmas so it was fun for us to get to see all the guys and Gregg loved getting to show his little man off to everyone! We love you Daddy and can't wait to have you back home with us in the morning!!!

Proud Daddy!

Pope Cade

My cousin sent Cade this adorable hat from Gap for Christmas. The hat says it is size 6-12 months but...

Tummy Time

We have really been working on our tummy time recently. Tummy time is not something that Cade is fond of at all and so it has always been a little bit of a struggle.

Save Me!

NO more!

These were taken this afternoon when we were playing. We are finally starting to make a little progress and seem to be tolerating our tummy time more! I used a pillow to prop underneath him and that seemed to help.

Meeting new friends

Two of my closest friends came to town this weekend to hang out and meet Cade! This was the first time that we have all been together since my wedding almost 2 years ago. We had such a great time together and it was so special to me to have these 2 girls finally get to meet our little guy! Cade was loved on and totally spoiled all weekend and just loved his time with his Aunt Keli and Aunt Jenn

It's Snowing!!!

It has been snowing at our house since about 11am! We bundled Cade up as soon as we noticed and took him outside for his first snow experience!

Cade's first time in the snow

It snowed most of the rest of the day so we had to dress Cade up again at the end of the day to head back out and experience the real snow! (Plus, we have 2 snow outfits and I'm pretty sure that this is the only snow we will see for the year so I had to put him in it!!!)

not quite as excited about the snow as Mommy and Daddy!

Courtney's Baby Shower

On Saturday, I helped host a baby shower for my dear friend Courtney. Courtney (& Casey) is expecting her first baby, a little girl named Peyton Raye, on February 19. We are all so excited about adding another baby to our group and cannot wait to meet this precious girl! (Cade is especially looking forward to meeting her!!!)

In addition to the little girl that Courtney will be adding to our group our other friend, Staci, is also pregnant and expecting a little girl in March.

2 month well-check

We took Cade for his 2 month check-up and vaccinations on Friday. He now weighs 11 pounds 8 ounces (45%), is 22.75 inches long (42%), and his head is 16 inches (64%). He is a growing boy!

getting ready to see the doctor

Our pediatrician examined him and she thinks that his stiff neck and flat spot on his head are looking A LOT better! She is very impressed with the progress we have made working with Cade and thinks that if we keep doing his neck stretches that all will be well and we can avoid Cade needing a helmet! YIPEE!!! She will examine him again at his 4 month appointment and make the final decision then.

Cade got an oral vaccination and 3 shots while we were at the doctor. Poor baby screamed initially but calmed down pretty quickly. The MA that gave him the shots was great and so quick giving the shots. We gave him tylenol before our appointment and then gave him tylenol every 4 hours throughout the day. He was definitely more fussy than usual all day and we could tell that he just wasn't feeling like his normal self. Hopefully he'll be back to his normal smiley self soon but in the mean time we will be enjoying our little cuddle bug!

2 months old

This chunky and oh so sweet baby boy is 2 months old! We are loving every minute of every day with Cade and cannot remember what our lives were like before he made his appearance!

Cade is growing and changing daily! We go for his 2 month well check on Friday so I will update with his weight and other growth statistics then.

Here are a few things about Cade this month:

- He is smiling so much and will smile back at us when we smile at him.
- He is cooing all the time and even mimics me a little when I make the "ooh" and "aah" noises.
- He has started to find his hands and is bringing them to his face more.
- He has almost complete neck control and is able to hold his head up on his own.
- He likes to "stand up" in our laps and kinda bounce on his legs.
- He still does not like tummy time but is tolerating it more. He does pretty good when laying on our chests and will push up on his arms and look around.
- He really likes his crib mobile and will follow it round and round.
- He is eats every 3-4 hours during the day and every 5-7 hours during the night. (I am still exclusively breastfeeding and loving every minute of it! This boy loves to eat and is very demanding when he does decide that he is hungry!)
- He loves to be swaddled at night to sleep with both arms tucked into his chest. (My favorite time is first thing in the morning when I un-swaddle him and he stretches out!)
- He loves his play mat and will kick his legs and wave his arms all around when laying on the ground to play.
- He is wearing size 1 diapers, size 0-3 month and a few 3 month clothes. I can still fit him in a couple of newborn outfits that are bigger but I have had to put away most of those little clothes.
- He will scoot down off his sleep incline every night and often ends up towards the bottom of his crib.
- He does not like to have anything on his head and will move his head all around until he manges to get a cap off if I do try to put one on him.

We don't have much of a "true" routine down at this point and pretty much let Cade dictate how things go around the house! We are working on a little routine to make things easier on all of us when I go back to work at the end of the month.

We feel so very blessed to have Cade in our lives. Each day is a blessing and we are having more fun than we ever thought possible! We love you baby boy and look forward to watching you grow and change more over this next month!

Happy 2 Month Birthday to our sweet little man!!!
