ROLL ON RED RAIDERS!!!

Saturday was the Tech vs Texas Football game and it was INCREDIBLE!!! The whole weekend was filled with excitement- Lubbock was like I have never seen it before! You could feel the electricity in the air!

Gregg and I stayed Friday night at the tailgate in my parents RV. We had to get up Saturday morning to meet with our Preacher for some Pre-marital Counseling. I was none to excited about going to this meeting (because I was afraid I was going to miss something at the tailgate) but once we got there to meet with Jason I really enjoyed the session! We had a really good session and got our next 2 lessons. Let the fun begin again!

After that it was back out to the tailgate for more food, fun, and alcohol! On Saturday we had sausage wraps, ribs, jalapeno wraps, and more chocolate brownies for lunch. YUMMY! It was so great to spend the day with my family and all kinds of friends both old and new! We even had a golf cart to go ride through all the other tailgates on.

Gregg found this tailgate party on Friday night when walking around. They had a stuffed Bevo hanging from one of the posts so we had to go back and have our picture made with it!

We also found a tailgate with this poster hanging on the door. (Not exactly classy but really, really funny!)
Around 5pm we loaded a bus and headed to the game- Mom and I like to be there early enough to see the band do their pre-game thing! Gregg and I got season tickets this year with my parents and this is the first home game that we have made it to. The stadium looked GREAT with everyone dressed all in black! It was SOOO exciting from the moment we walked in! There really aren't even words to describe the game and all the emotions that the fans went through Saturday night- excitement, shock, exhilaration, disappointment, sadness, amazement and pure joy!!! RAIDER POWER! I am so proud of this football team and all their hard work this year! We are finally making a stand and proving to everyone that we DESERVE respect!!! This was a game that will go down in the history books and I am so glad that I got to whiteness it!

The band at halftime- they did a awesome Pirate themed routine in honor of Mike Leach

These guys did their school proud! One more reason that I am VERY glad not to be a texas fan!

Our weekend!

Gregg and I went to Lubbock last Thursday to watch the Red Raiders take on Texas and to get some wedding stuff taken care of. We flew in and out of Amarillo because the flights there were so much cheaper than flying to Lubbock. So, Thursday night Gregg's parents came to pick us up from the airport and we went to have dinner at "Blue Sky" with Gregg's parents and his Aunt and Uncle who live in Canyon. We had an amazing dinner- yummy burgers and fries- and then went back to Gregg's parents house in Hale Center to stay the night.

On Friday morning we drove to Wolfforth to go meet the lady who is doing flowers for our wedding at the Church. My Mom, Gregg, and I spent a couple of hours there with her and I am super exited now that I have heard Nancy's ideas for the flowers! After we finished at the Church Gregg and I headed up to the waiting line to get in to the tailgate area where we me my little brother and some other friends. My parents had taken the RV to the waiting lot Thursday at noon so we were all at the front of the line to get into the parking lot. Tech couldn't allow people into the lot until after 5:30pm when classes let out so we had several hours of waiting to do. It was CRAZY seeing the number of RV's that were waiting to get into the parking lot!!!

Once the gates opened at 5:30pm it was an all out mad dash to get into the parking lot and claim a space. We got the most awesome space and the 6 RV's that were with us all set up camp! We camped in style for the weekend having a great grill, smoker, and big screen TV with surround sound all set up. On Saturday night they even put out a 6ft X 6ft screen and projector for anyone not going to the game to watch it on at the tailgate area.
We ate GREAT food- A LOT of great food! We had burgers, wings, jalapeno wraps, and chocolate brownies, and plenty of alcohol on Friday night. We also dressed up for Halloween and had lots of candy for the Trick or Treaters!
Mom dressed up as a Cowgirl Ghost complete with long blonde wig under her hat, a pearl necklace, and fake eye lashes!
Bailey, my niece, was a Mad Scientist
Gregg was a Pirate complete with Parrot and eye patch and I was a friendly Devil with an awesome red and black wig, red and black eye lashes, and fun red and black boa!
Pip, my brother and sister-in-law's dog even had a skeleton shirt to wear
Overall, the night was a lot of fun!!! It was GREAT seeing everyone so pumped up for the game and so excited about Tech! Stay tuned for pictures from Saturday and the game!!!

Bridal Shower

On Saturday I had my first Bridal Shower! My AMAZING friends Heidi, Keli, and Tiffany, along with Tiffany's Mother Angela, and Mother-in law Noel, threw the shower and it was so incredible. My Mom and cousin Kathy drove down, my Grandmother flew in from Lubbock, and my best friend and Maid of Honor Jennifer flew in from San Antonio. Gregg's little sister, Misti, and her husband were here this weekend also and so she got to come. It was a great to celebrate this special time in my life with all my friends and family. Thank you to everyone who was there and made this shower so wonderful for me.

Here are the few pictures that I took with my camera. I am waiting on pictures from some of the other girls cameras and will post them when I can.

Fun times in College Station!

This weekend we went to College Station to go to the Tech vs. A&M football game!!! Since Gregg and I have season tickets to Tech football games we were able to get tickets for this game through Tech and 16 of went to the game together. We had the best time while we were there and being at the game was terrifying and AWESOME! We acted like college kids all weekend going to Northgate on Friday night and then playing Power Hour after the game yesterday! It was so much fun to get out of town and be able to spend the weekend with such great friends!

We got to College Station Friday night about 11pm (Gregg worked that day so we had to wait till his sub came in at 7pm). Our first stop was Varita's, a wine bar, where we got to celebrate Tony and Callie's engagement!

Staci, Susan, Callie, me, and Courtney all posing with our rings!

After that we went to Northgate and to hang out at a Irish bar. I have to admit that we all felt a little old, extremely sober, and quite over dressed to be there! (The college girls there were very scantily clad!)

Susan, Staci, and Courtney

Saturday morning Gregg and I got up early and went to get breakfast from Shipley's Doughnuts!!! SOOO GOOD! Then we all finished getting ready and headed to the game. Our seats were on the 2nd row from the top in the end zone (meaning that we could just about see all of College Station from where we were sitting). We were miserably hot and their football stadium STINKS- we were told that the stadium is bat friendly and that is where the lovely smell came from! The game was intense but very exciting and I am very glad that Tech got it together during the 2nd half and pulled off another victory!

RAIDER POWER!!!

After the game we all went out to The Wood's house for dinner! Mr. and Mrs. Woods cooked brisket, chicken, sausage, and some yummy cheesey patatoes plus we had salad and rolls and then a graham cracker pudding dessert that was fantastic! After dinner we watched the Missouri vs texas football game. (I am a little afraid of the Tech vs texas game on Nov. 1) Then since we were all so tired and sunburned none of us felt like going out again so we decided to play a little game of Power Hour! Staci ended up sitting out the last 15 minutes but the rest of us made it through the hour. By the end of the game (sometime after midnight) we had ordered and devoured 2 dozen Double Dave's Pizza Rolls!

Susan helping Staci get rid of her hiccups!

YUMMY!

Brynn and Craig

Today we all slept late and then went to the original Freebird's for lunch before heading back to Dallas and the reality of adulthood and jobs!

My comical car accident

Yesterday morning on my way into work I had a little bit of an accident! Everything is totally fine but the story of it all is way too funny not to share! I was driving down Harry Hines headed to the hospital as I do every morning when a Dr Pepper truck made a U-Turn a red light. The truck turned into his own lane but I guess when he loaded up that morning he didn't secure his door well and his load shifted and dumped out of his lane and into mine. Pallets of soft drinks went everywhere and exploded! (The truck driver never even noticed any of this happening.) My car got "jack knifed" up on 4 pallets of Diet Dr Pepper, 7-Up, Root Beer, and some other citrus drink!!! I was totally stuck and there were cokes spraying all over my car. I got out and started pulling drinks out from under my car one at a time until a wonderfully nice construction worker finally pulled over to help. He crawled under my car and got everything else out and I was able to go on into work. My absolutely incredible fiance then came and got my car from the hospital and took it to be washed off! (I love it when he can rescue me!!!)

Here are a couple of pictures of some of the cokes after we pulled them out from under my car.

The city workers called to clean all the cokes off the road
